LISA
LISA (Laser Interferometer Space Antenna) is a European Space Agency mission designed to detect and accurately measure gravitational waves with uprecedented sensitivity, and promises to bring informations which will dramatically improve our knowledge of the Universe.
The Cosmology Group is involved in the LISA Consortium: Michele Maggiore, Chiara Caprini, Stefano Foffa and Alberto Roper Pol as Full Members, Camille Bonvin, Ruth Durrer, Martin Kunz, Lucas Lombriser and Niccolo Muttoni as Associate Members. Valerio De Luca, Gabriele Franciolini and Toni Riotto are also part of the Consortium in association with the INFN Padua group.
Our contribution to LISA concerns theoretical studies of the implications of LISA for dark energy, dark matter, modified gravity, and cosmology in general. In particular: use of standard sirens to study the imprint of dark energy on GW propagation (Lombriser; Foffa, Maggiore) use of standard sirens for cosmological parameter estimations (Caprini, Foffa, Kunz, Maggiore, Muttoni), effects of gravitational lensing and matter inhomegeneities on the luminosity distance (Bonvin,Durrer), studies of primordial black holes as dark matter candidates and non-Gaussian gravitational wave signals (De Luca, Franciolini, Riotto), studies of magnetohydrodynamic turbulent sources of gravitational waves in the early universe (Caprini, Roper Pol), stochastic gravitational wave signals from the early universe (Caprini).
