In this talk, I will present aspects of mesogenesis, a baryogenesis mechanism. First, I will discuss a modified the mesogenesis mechanism that can generate baryogenesis with only the SM CP violation. I will also discuss ongoing work to better analyze the underpinning of mesogenesis: the efficiency of coherent meson oscillations in the early universe. I will next discuss a second project: gravitational wave probes of the eta’ potential.
We are addressing if non-perturbative instanton effects provide the main contribution to the eta’ mass. Since the precise origin of the eta' mass remains unresolved in QCD. Non-perturbative instanton effects are theorized to play a dominant role, but this has yet to be definitively tested. Understanding the eta' mass sheds light on non-perturbative QCD dynamics. We are tackling this problem by comparing predictions from two different Effective Field Theories (EFTs) and seeking a gravitational wave (GW) signature as a complementary observable.
