Two examples of data analysis techniques applied to astronomical problems

Abstract: Two examples of data analysis techniques applied to astronomical problems are discussed. The first example is taken from weak lensing and deals with the use of image deconvolution for accurate measurement of the cosmic shear. The second example concerns the application of the Kolmogorov stochasticity parameter (KSP) to detect point source candidates in WMAP data.
