The Department of Theoretical Physics at the University of Geneva expects to make up to three postdoctoral research appointments starting in the fall of 2016. We are anticipating to hire one person each, in the areas of
1 String Theory and Holography (contact: Julian Sonner)
2 & 3 Cosmology: theory, numerical simulations and data analysis (contacts: Ruth Durrer and Martin Kunz)
4 Cosmology: theory, large scale structure, tests of gravity, dark energy (contact: Camille Bonvin, email@example.com)
The appointments are initially for two years (with an extension to three years possible).
Other research groups with overlapping interests at the department of theoretical physics include those of Dmitry Abanin, Vincent Desjaques, Michele Maggiore, Marcos Marino, Antonio Riotto and Eugene Sukhorukov. We maintain close ties with the department of quantum matter at the university, as well as the CERN theory division.
Applications should include a cover letter, a CV, a short statement of research interests, a publication list and the names and email addresses of three senior physicists who will provide letters of recommendation. The applications should be submitted via academicjobsonline. We will begin considering applications on 1. December. We will continue to accept applications until the posts are filled.
In a perspective of parity, applications by women are particularly encouraged and welcome.
